Two new thin-and-light notebooks expand Toshiba’s ultra-mobile offerings
New screen sizes, long battery life, high performance and a sleek design define new thin-and-light models
Markham, ON (September 29, 2009) – Two new thin-and-light notebooks mark Toshiba’s growing ultra-portable options. The Satellite T110 and the Satellite T130 are just 24.9 mm and 22.2 mm thin respectively and weigh less than 1.8 kg . The two new models are targeted at modern, style-conscious consumers who want high design, mobility, great performance and long battery life.
Full range of thin-and-light notebooks
"Lightweight notebooks are in great demand. We’re broadening consumer options with these two new ultra-portable and affordable models," said Mini Saluja, Toshiba Product Manager, Consumer Notebooks. "The new thin-and-light notebooks bridge the gap between netbooks, which are optimized for content consumption, and full performance ultra-mobile notebooks."
Toshiba's ultra-portable product range now spans the 10.1-inch NB200 netbook, the new 11.6-inch Satellite T110 and the 13.3-inch Satellite T130, and the recently unveiled 13.3-inch Satellite U500, a fully performing yet highly portable notebook. The new Satellite T-series models offer increased performance over netbooks and are suited to multitasking and content creation.
Long battery life for ultra-portability
Despite their compact design the Satellite T110 and Satellite T130 offer a full working day’s use on one battery charge, with up to nine hours of usage time.
Fashionable design
The Satellite T110 and the T130 will be available in Precious Black with a patterned finish. Designed to be stylish both inside and out, the colour on the cover is also repeated inside the notebook, around the keyboard and the display.
Smart features for greater mobility
The Satellite T110 and the Satellite T130 also include a Hard Drive Impact Sensor that guards data stored on the HDD (up to 500 GB) from the daily bumps of mobile life. The USB port with Sleep-and-Charge technology enables various consumer electronics to be charged, even when the notebook is turned off. A built-in webcam with Face Recognition makes logging in hassle-free and live chat possible from anywhere.
Easy to use and highly productive
Both new notebooks will be equipped with a Touch Pad with Multi-Touch Control, to facilitate scrolling, while the full-size keyboard makes typing easy. Toshiba ConfigFree™ also simplifies network configuration and online access.
The right power for the job
The notebooks offer a broad range of connectivity features such as Fast Ethernet, embedded WLAN (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) with a Diversity Antenna and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. In addition, the Satellite T110 and Satellite T130 provide a 5-in-1 bridge media adapter and three USB 2.0 ports.
The 11.6-inch Satellite T110 and 13.3-inch Satellite T130 are both equipped with LED backlit displays providing a 16:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.
The Satellite T110 and Satellite T130 are powered by Intel® Pentium® Ultra Low Voltage processors and feature Microsoft Windows® 7 Home Premium as the supplied operating system.
Pricing and Availability
The 11.6-inch Satellite T110 and 13.3-inch Satellite T130 will be available in the fourth quarter of 2009 for a suggested list price of $669 and $729 respectively.
Sustainable and eco-friendly
As a responsible global corporate citizen, Toshiba ensures that all notebooks are RoHS-compliant, effectively reducing the environmental impact by restricting the use of lead, mercury and certain other hazardous substances. Additionally the Toshiba Eco utility helps to reduce power consumption, and makes users aware of the power their notebook is using. The Toshiba Satellite T110 and the Satellite T130 are ENERGY STAR® 5.0 qualified.
